Vote for the Taj Mahal!

Taj Mahal

Come on everyone! Include the Taj Mahal as one of your Top 7 choices on the following website:

http://www.new7wonders.com/index.php?id=409

The website has instructions on how to vote. You need to pick out 7 monuments among the 21 listed and submit your votes. The last information I received indicated that the Taj Mahal was in the top 10 but not the top 7. Apparently, not enough people are voting for the Taj. So, I’d like to request everyone to please include the Taj Mahal as one of your choices for the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Update

I haven’t really posted anything since my PT concert review. In the meantime, I have come back home to India and am relaxing. It’s hot with temperatures hitting 46 degree Celsius (110F +) but not that bad when you stay indoors. The primary reason I haven’t posted is that I’m theme-hunting once again. I like the current default (Fluidity3c) and I thought I could mod it and get it to look better. But my attempts yielded nothing good so I abandoned that plan and went looking for a new theme altogether. I uploaded and then discarded quite a few for varying reasons and at this point, only one survives (AbstractGreen). It hasn’t been modified in any way, not even the header. Design-wise, I like it but the colors are too bright and the header is ginormous. If I can suddenly discover motivation, I can modify it and use it. But that might take time. Have patience!

I didn’t just waste all my time searching for new themes. I also went ahead and redesigned (somewhat) the header over at TechSpot Forums to make it look neater and we added the Arcade back. I have also been posting news on the main site so make sure to check it often for updates and the latest in technology!

Out.

Concert Review: Porcupine Tree in New York City 5/19/07

Let me start by saying that Porcupine Tree are a great live band. Their songs are great on the albums but live, there is an energy to them and they burst into life. Plus, Steven Wilson being the technical genius that he is, their sound in a live concert is very close to the album versions. And the icing on the cake was the venue: this was my first time at the Nokia Theatre at Times Square and it is a terrific venue. The construction looks futuristic and the lighting and decorations are well-done. They have seats in the back and standing room up front and can hold 2100 people at once. Plus you can ogle at Nokia’s line of cell phones to kill time! Anyway, let’s get to the actual concert!

Minutes to Midnight Review

Linkin Park Minutes to Midnight

Linkin Park were the first rock band that I really got into. I would listen to their stuff all the time and along with Green Day, they were my favorite band for a while. Since then, I’ve gone through phases of liking several bands as favorites namely System of a Down, Metallica, Pearl Jam, and finally Tool. I think Tool are going to be my favorite band of all time as long as they don’t release something atrocious. Heck, I think they’ll still be my favorites. Of course, I also love Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Rush, The Decemberists, and Led Zeppelin among others. But then again, this is a review for the new Linkin Park album. So let’s get to it!

Fear of a Blank Planet Review

Two years after Deadwing, Porcupine Tree are back with a new studio album. Last year saw the release of a live DVD, Arriving Somewhere But Not Here… which featured a concert filmed in Chicago. A great DVD for any Porcupine Tree fan! On the tour to support the DVD, PT started playing some new songs that they were working on. Fans returned from these concerts saying good things about the new material, in particular a monster twenty-minute track. The new album, Fear of a Blank Planet is out now, and this is my review!
