Hi i own a Vision M from last one year. Its a great player plays Divx/Xvid which i download from net. The freezing problem was due to Firmware. All who face this can upgrade it from crative's support site.
And during freeze you can hit reset button to make it work again.
Can anybody let me know where i can get a charger for it as my old charger is damaged and now i have to charge from USB only.

Akhila: You could try installing the latest firmware and see if that fixes the problem. The freezing and crashing sound like a faulty hard drive - did you accidentally drop it at any point? A friend of mine dropped his and it stopped working. I can't speak for the Indian market since I haven't been in touch with it, but I would suggest going for a flash-based player to avoid hard disk problems.

Hey Vivek,
Love the review.
As a confirmed i-tunes hater, the creative zen vision m was pretty much my only choice when i upgraded from cds.
but its pretty much broken my heart too.
i bought it in singapore, and obviously the warranty is dead here. a mistake i will never make again.
the zen had a hardware problem two weeks after it came home. after much heartburn and walletburn, it got fixed. since then, its been freezing quite frequently, reset button notwithstanding. it freezes during database rebuilding too. crashed once, had to reload everything. and just froze/crashed again today.
do you know anyone who's gone thru the same and solved it?
is there any hope?
also, can you recommend a non ipod 10-15 GB player that would be available in India? any idea?
a million thanks.

Hey Ananya. I think it would come down to size - the Zen Vision: W is a lot larger than the regular Zens. If you want that large screen and are comfortable with the size, by all means go for it. Otherwise, you might want to consider one of the more compact Zens. By the way, there's a new Zen on its way: http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/14/creative-finally-gets-really-official-with-zen-x-fi-as-it-appear/

Hi,
I recently bought a Creative Zen Vision M 30Gb ipod. Since i stay outdoors most of the time, I find it difficult to charge the ipod(which needs a system's USB, with Zen software installed in the system).Where do I get a charger which can be used to charge the ipod directly.

Hello Aditi! Glad you liked the review! This is post is almost two years old but it remains one of the most popular posts on my blog.

To answer your question, the recording quality is decent. I haven't tried it in any particularly noisy environment, but it works very well when you are close to the source. Even in quiet areas, if you are too far away from the sound source, the recording will come out sounding weak.

Hi! That's a nice review. I just bought a zen vison-m and would like to know if the recording clarity is really good. How does it work in noisy surroundings ?
